Giving Back to the Island

Our retreats wouldn’t be possible without Jamaica.

Our company ethos revolves around offering the best psychedelic retreat that we can, and that includes giving back. Helping the communities that assist in making our retreats a success has always been a requirement for us. Last year, MycoMeditations infused over $1 million USD into the local economies of Jamaica from our retreat operations, and we are involved with numerous other charitable initiatives.

Initiatives We Are
Involved With

Great Bay Toy Drive +

Each year, MycoMeditations gets festive with the gift of giving and sets about to give every child in the Great Bay district of Treasure Beach a personalized Christmas present. Most of these children have never received a Christmas gift before and now look forward to their gifts from MycoMeditations every year. On December 23rd each year our on-island team goes door to door hand delivering these gifts to the over 125 children here. It has since become our most favourite annual tradition that our guests love to contribute to with donated toys throughout the year.

Treasure Beach Turtle Group +

The Treasure Beach Turtle Group is a community-based conservation organisation that protects and enhances Jamaica’s wildlife and environment through science, education, and community involvement. They gather nesting data of the endangered Hawksbill Sea Turtles to track the population, put on educational tours and give employment to the local community. Our Director of Operations, Abbie, is the local representative for the TBTG and works closely with the team here in Great Bay.

Likkle Swimmers +

Likkle Swimmers is a free swim-teaching charity that has been running here in Treasure Beach during the Easter and summer holidays since 2017. Our Operations Manager, Beccy, co-runs this charity, with the help of eight locals that are now trained as swimming teachers. Every year over 300 adults and children are taught to swim in the local sports park.

Jamaica Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals +

MycoMeditations works with the Jamaica Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (JSPCA) and supports a free, bi-annual spay and neutering clinic each Spring and Fall for anyone in Treasure Beach who requires these services for their pets.

Monthly +

Monthly is a passion project set up by our Operations Manager, Beccy, to provide family planning and feminine products to women in the community. Most of these women and girls miss swimming lessons, school, or social activities due to a lack of availability and funds to buy these items. We have teamed up with a local doctor’s clinic and secondary school where Monthly bags are available to those in need.
